Melissa found yoga at a time where anxiety and periods of depression hit an all time high. Yoga, starting with the asana, brought a new way to cope with anxiety, some thing to feel passionate about and a new sensation connecting with the body and the present moment. Yoga brought about a sense of community which she has not experience before, a new sense of purpose, with a number of values and philosophies that she was looking to find in that time of her life. Her love affair grew over the last 2 years where she became dedicated to her yoga practice, practicing inversions and was constantly up for a challenge, so decided to do a 1 year yoga teacher training course with YogaLondon. Melissa is passionate about mindfulness and moving mindfully to ambient music, healthy food and all things nutrition, kindness to others and as importantly self-kindness, mental health, environmental friendly and long-term sustainability and exploring nature and the sea as much as possible. Currently she works 9-5 at a Health charity in London but with finishing her yoga teacher training course in June she hopes to balance yoga teaching and her charity job.
